Well, that is conventional wisdom, however, it was the media who picked the fight. And, now, they’re fighting someone with the bully pulpit. This ought to me interesting.
For those who don’t know, BuzzFeed posted a report/memo, whatever. It was supposedly an intelligence report. It was full of entirely unsubstantiated garbage about Donald Trump. News outlets such as CNN happily picked the stuff up and passed it along. The narrative of the garbage has already been de-bunked.
Essentially it said that Russia has been working on Trump to be an operative and had some horrible dirt on Trump. It even named people and places and events ….. blah, blah, blah. Sadly, no one bothered to check if any of the people and places and events ever actually happened. Nope. They didn’t. One guy was suppose to be in Prague doing stuff at a particular time.
