Food for Thought: Ps. 122:1
Originally, the “House of the Lord” was the temple found in Jerusalem, though a building made by human hands cannot truly house Him. (“Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? (Is. 66:1)” Then, not long after the ascension of Jesus to heaven, the temple was destroyed, which was not mere coincidence.
Now, His temple is the Church, the believers, also known as His Body (Eph. 5:23-27). Ephesians 2:20-22 explains, “having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling…
