March 18 Scripture Selection: Judges 16-18

Food for Thought: Judg. 16:15-21

The story of Samson and Delilah is an excellent illustration of what can happen when people become unequally yoked. Doing so, though at the time may be exhilarating and very exciting, is a very unhealthy, ungodly relationship that cannot end well. Unfortunately, believers who enter such relationships turn a blind eye to the selfish and harmful acts of the ungodly partner and stubbornly stay, even despite the warnings and counsel of those who love them. Sadly, their heart and flesh take precedence over godly wisdom from the Word at a very painful cost.

The Lord loves us and never wants to see us get hurt. That is why we are specifically admonished in His Word not to be unequally yoked. Second Corinthians 6:14-18 explains, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For…
