Food for Thought: Gen. 48:8-19
People don’t realize how paramount and significant are the words we speak over our children and their children. There is something very powerful about declaring blessing and positive expectations over the lives of our descendants, and it’s not necessarily something that should only be done on the death bed. Rather, we should be speaking positive words over them even before they leave the womb and constantly reminding them throughout their lives. Our children and children’s children will fulfill that which have been spoken over them by faith.
God was the first to model this, and it continued throughout the biblical record, practiced by His followers. Why should today be any different? Our words are just as effective as the words of Israel when spoken with faith. Further, even negative words can have an effect…
