In today’s scripture selection, Paul points out three things that were issues of dispute among the church that actually can be found today in different denominations and are almost what defines them. Yet he admonishes the believers to not allow those differences to cause division among the brethren. It seems like even today more time is spent judging our brothers and sisters in Christ than focusing on that which is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and worthy of praise (Phil. 4:8).
This doesn’t mean that we have to agree on every doctrine; it simply means that it is not our place to judge that brother who is either “weak in the faith (vs. 1)” or just sees things differently. “Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind (vs. 5)”, and…
