I’m just going to put this out here, essentially for reference, and to help people to understand how much of our debt is held by foreign entities. Note, that the US is currently $17 trillion in debt.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Foreign buyers of U.S. Treasury securities increased their holdings in January to another record high.
The Treasury Department says , up 0.5 percent from December when holdings had risen 1.5 percent to $5.80 trillion, the previous record.

Foreign demand for U.S. Treasury securities is expected to remain strong this year.
This reverses a previous trend by both Japan and China, in that they were selling our bonds not too long ago.
I don’t really understand why anyone would buy US bonds, unless the Fed is paying more for them than they’re worth. The short-term bonds…
