March 14 Scripture Selection: Acts 16:1-15

Food for Thought: Acts 16:14-15

Like Cornelius, Lydia is an example of a sincere Gentile with a true desire to worship God, despite being surrounded by pagan idol-worshippers. She even prayed to Him with other ladies, even though she didn’t have the full picture. Of course, God was aware of her and knew she would be ready to enter the faith and, as a consequence, bring countless others into a relationship with Jesus Christ. So he sent Paul and Silas to deliver the Gospel to her. (Thank God, they were not limited to speaking only to men, or only in the synagogues, or some other one-tracked mind limitation. Rather, they were entirely led by the Holy Spirit and Love.)

I bet Lydia was the prayer meeting leader. In the few verses in which she appears, she shows leadership qualities…
