God’s timing of events is always significant and calculated. Just He chose Jesus to be offered up as the Lamb of God for Passover, He sent the Holy Spirit to be poured out on the believers on the day of Pentecost (the Feast of Weeks) for a reason. He needed to fulfill the Law at this point, too. To see the correlation, it would be very helpful to read Deut. 16:1-12 and Lev. 23:15-18. The Jews were celebrating Pentecost (the fiftieth day after Passover) as they had for centuries when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples who were in the upper room.
