Sea Ice Update! Nearly 400,000 sq Miles Above the Mean. And An Arctic Comparison To Last Year

Forget comparing it to how many Manhattans that is.  It’s more than seven times the size of the state of New York!

As we see some continue to wet themselves over arctic sea ice decline, I thought it would be interesting to compare this year to last years extent and thickness.

Now, that said, I’m not convinced that we can accurately measure the thickness.  So, like all climate measurements, take it with a grain of salt.

Here we see the thicker ice by Greenland and Canada was larger last year.  But, we see this year that it is more….  formed, for a lack of a better word.  We also see noticeably thicker ice formed at the north of Russia and more ice east of Greenland.  

What does it mean?  I’ve no clue.
