One of the climate establishment’s new coping mechanisms in handling what is effectively the third release of the climategate emails, is to put pressure on the people who were sent the decryption key, rather than looking for the identity of the leaker. The leaker goes by the name FOIA and the establishment in this case are the University of East Anglia, usually abbreviated to UEA, which is also rather tellingly interpreted by its own notably laid-back students as the University of Easy Access.

Incidentally, in the aftermath of the long drawn out and seemingly unquenchable PR disaster that climategate keeps turning out to be for UEA, there are rumours of them working hard on repairing their academic credibility. Given the alarums and excursions of the last few years, big donors have been noticeably gun-shy of the place. They’re sprucing up their academic credentials by trying to recruit some scholastic heavy hitters like Gergis, Marcott, Shakun and…

Steve, the problem we face today is of our own making:

Sixty-seven years ago world leaders formed the United Nations on 24 Oct 1945 out of fear and loathing of the consequences if humans had knowledge of the source of energy that destroyed Hiroshima on 6 Aug 1945 and Nagasaki on 9 Aug 1945, respectively:

Subsequent precise measurements and observations revealed that the source of energy that destroyed the Japanese cities is also the source of energy that:
    a.) Powers the Sun
    b.) Made our elements
    c.) Expands the universe
d.) Birthed the Solar System 5 Gyr ago
e.) Sustained the origin and evolution of life after 3.5 Gyr ago
f.) Powered natural nuclear reactors burning on Earth until 2 Gyr ago
g.) Still generates heat in the interiors of gaseous planets like Jupiter and Saturn
h.) Controls Earth’s climate and a volume of space greater than ten billion, billion Earths.

Now world leaders cannot possibly lead society with:
    _ i.) Limited fossil fuels
    _ ii.) Increasing human population
_ iii.) Greater energy consumption per person, and
_ iv.) Government sciences that have been compromised for sixty-seven years!

What a sad state of affairs these manipulative politicians and scientists have given society. Our problem now is to save the benefits from forming the United Nations (reduced racism, nationalism and threat of nuclear war) while restoring constitutional limits on government and integrity to government science.

    With deep regrets,

    Investigator for Apollo
