Good read!

More state records from the list produced by the NCDC. These are the all time maximum temperatures by state, as recorded since 1895.
Out of the 59 records, (including ties), currently standing on the books, 24 were set in the 1930’s, and only one was set since 2000 – South Dakota in 2006.
The highest temperature for the US as a whole was 134F, set in California in 1913.
None of this, of course, should come as any surprise. Previous analysis of daily record high temperatures at individual stations in Kansas and Ohio has shown a similar pattern.
Whatever else is happening to temperature trends, it appears that it is not actually getting any hotter in the US.
